We bring the party so that YOU don’t have to!
Nannette Taft and Sadie Smythe met at a festival in 2014 on a beautiful October morning one day before Sadie's birthday. Theirs was like many love stories in that there was an immediate connection that fired between them. And theirs was like some love stories in that within a week they had fallen in love. But what makes this truly their love story is that just four months later, their company Drink Slingers was born.
Both had been in career transitions when they met and it just so happened that they were given an opportunity through a mentor to try their hand at event bartending. With Sadie's background in writing and event production and Nannette's background in international education, the two made the perfect complementary pair.
Rather quickly (because clearly that's how they do things) Nannette and Sadie discovered that they each derived a certain satisfaction from contributing to people's most special days – weddings, birthday parties and other meaningful celebrations –
by imbuing the spirit of the celebration from behind the bar. By "bringing the party". They were delighted to be able to create space for hosts to enjoy their own event and not have to hassle with the bar portion of it - from concept to clean up.
And of course it wasn't long before Drink Slingers grew into a full-fledged business, beyond the rate at which Nannette and Sadie could attend to their clients and bartend, so they began to expand by hiring new folks - bartenders, event managers, warehouse workers and a staff manager. And while Nannette and Sadie don't bartend any longer, they are quite resolute in hiring only those who can uphold Drink Slingers' credo (borrowed from Maya Angelou) –
"People will forget what you did, they will forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel".
Because we believe that is who our clients want interacting face-to-face (and heart-to-heart) with their guests.
